- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 cup crushed tomatoes
- 1/3 cup chili powder
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup water
- 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed – or any type of beans.
Place all ingredients except for the kidney beans into a pot over high heat. Using a potato masher smash down and crumble the meat until it breaks down into small pieces.
Cover and cook over high heat for 10 minutes smashing once or twice with a potato masher in between. Add kidney beans and cook for two more minutes until the beans are heated through. Serve with grated cheese, scallions and low-fat Greek yogurt if desired instead of sour cream.
